STORIES / ARTICLES SOLD

"Kulpunya", Exotic Gothic 2, edited Danel Olson, Ash-Tree Press, expected publication Autumn 2008

"Abandoned" -- a YA supernatural crime story -- has been accepted for Trust Me!, an anthology edited for the educational market by Paul Collins

"Fafrotskies" -- a short short story -- accepted for Black Box, edited by Shane Jiraiya Cummings (Brimstone Press, due Jan 2008)

"Redlight Dead", written for a new shared-world hardcover periodical, Monster Noir, edited by Steven Savile. This project is under development, and is very exciting. Keep an eye out for further information.

A sequence of five separate-but-connected shorts -- which I tentatively think of as my "Weird Apocalypse" series -- has been taken by Angela Challis of Shadowed Realms. The first of them, "First Moment of Dying", appeared in issue 11, 2006. The rest ("Second Moment of Dying", etc.) will follow in subsequent issues.

"Desert Madonna", Tales from a Sunburnt Realm, edited by Nigel Read and Shane Jiraiya Cummings: a shared-world concept anthology. Anticipated publication date: 2007

WHAT'S OUT THERE?

A dark-crime/horror novel Scavengers is currently doing the rounds... as is the epic horror-fantasy Fragments of a Broken Land.

Assorted short stories have been submitted and are awaiting a response. Unfortunately, the response isn't always positive.

NEW BOOKS

Rob is currently working on the title story -- a novella -- for a collection of short horror stories to be published by Altair Australia Books in 2007. The collection will be called Creeping in Reptile Flesh. Apart from the titular novella, it will feature one or two previously unpublished stories and a wealth of stories that have appeared in major magazines in Australia and overseas. Cover art and design will be by the multi-talented and award-winning Cat Sparks.

Rob was Featured Author on the very excellent IDEOMANCER SPECULATIVE FICTION website during January, February and March 2003. On the site you will find a new story, "Nobody's Car", as well as two reprints -- "Rotten Times" (which was shortlisted for an Aurealis award in 2000) and "Necropolis" (from Day-dreaming on Company Time). There is also a new interview conducted by Deborah Biancotti.

Check out the site at www.ideomancer.com.

Note: you'll have to go to the Previous Issues section now! Time marches on!
